Carnelian Art Gallery, being located at 221 King St., Suite 102, in downtown Madison, is the perfect destination to integrate into your date night, day trip, or general shopping plans.
Dining out AND soaking in some beautiful art? Count me in.
King Street in general is home to many eclectic restaurants, trendy bars, and historic music venue the Majestic Theatre. All are just a hop and a skip away from the gallery. Not only that, but Carnelian Art Gallery is a short walk from Madison’s Capitol Square, where events like the Dane County Farmers’ Market and Art Fair on the Square are held during the warmer months.
But while some visitors to Carnelian Art Gallery have the luxury of living close by, others have to commute. That means finding a place to park.
That’s why I wanted to put together a quick parking guide for Carnelian Art Gallery visitors, as we recognize that parking in downtown Madison can challenging and congested at times, especially when events are going on.
As you can see on the above map, there are several options for parking garages near the gallery, as well as around the Capitol Square.
Nearest to the gallery is the Block 89 Parking Ramp, as well as the Wilson Street Parking Garage. Be advised that East Wilson Street is undergoing a street construction project that is slated to last around another year, according to Downtown Madison, Inc.
The Block 89 Parking Ramp is located on 10 E, Doty St., and has a weekday daily maximum rate of $27. Weekday evenings after 4 p.m. cost a flat fee of $10. On weekends, people can park inside this garage, also for a flat fee of $10. Events in the city are likely to influence parking rates for this garage.
The Wilson Street Parking Garage’s daily maximum rate is $14. On nights and weekends, there’s an $8 maximum rate. When events take place, the garage charges a flat fee of $10 on entry. This garage is located at 20 E. Wilson St.
The City of Madison has a list of rates for more parking garages downtown and across the city here.
A map of unmetered street areas with time limits can be also be found on the city’s website. Immediately by Carnelian Art Gallery on King Street, as well as on Wilson Street are various metered parking spaces.
We advise all visitors to adhere to City of Madison parking ordinances to avoid getting a parking ticket or towed. Pay attention to all street and parking garage signage, too.
And most of all, enjoy your visit to Carnelian Art Gallery. We are so excited to see you during our regular hours, or during your private showing.
