He loves the environment and advocating or its preservation. He loves spreading positivity and joy in whatever way he can.

James Widder, an artist that Carnelian Art Gallery represents, showcases his passions in his paintings in particular. The works below adorn the walls of Carnelian Art Gallery’s meeting space, equipped with couches and books to read. Widder takes what would otherwise be an ordinary everyday scene, and adds texture and vibrancy to it. In the below artworks, he demonstrates his appreciation for nature. What might normally be a sullen autumn day to one person is a bright amalgamation of color to Widder. I especially enjoy how Widder employs Van Gogh-esque brush strokes. Monochromatic is not a word I would assume he uses often.

Widder says with his paintings what we all wish to say about the beauty of the outdoors. There are no words for its splendor. Sometimes you just have to sit back and appreciate the rainbow, even if it isn’t immediately apparent.
